The acting career of Reese Witherspoon began to take off when she enrolled at Stanford University. Her early success was in films such as Pleasantville, Election and Legally Blonde. It was her role as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde's big-budget smash that truly was the start of her professional career. Witherspoon was awarded her first Academy Award in 2005 for her part as Elle Woods in Walk the Line. In addition, she appeared as an actress in The Dictator (1998) and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2006). Along with her career as an actress, Sheila is also a talented artist.
