Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. He combines soul gospel jazz with R&B in a distinct blend. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway, at the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Her real name is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical experience began at the church, where she sang as well as played piano. She attended Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training in the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was Stalk You A house 12 released exclusively in Japan and has since been remixed by numerous producers and is an essential part of her live set. Additionally, she was a part of The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. In 2005, she was the pianist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy and Tony award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir in the production staged by Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine came to national interest during four consecutive performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
