Nancy Wilson and Maisie Richardson

Nancy Wilson was born 20th February 1937 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Olden Wilson, an ironworker and Lillian Ryan (a former housemaid). Nancy Wilson was the first born child at the age of 6. The passion for music that her father had and the records he played in the family room were an enormous influence on Nancy as a young girl. When she was young she was already able to establish the impression of who she was as well as what she wanted to do. Church choirs encouraged her to develop this talent. At the age of 15 and had a chance to win the talent show on T.V. and began appearing on The Skyline Melodies Tv Show while still in High School. In the same year, she began to perform at night clubs. Following her graduation from high school aged 17 Nancy took a class for a year at Ohio's Central State College now Central State University prior to dropping out and becoming professional as a singer. In 1956 she released her debut record with Rusty Bryant's Carolyn Club Big Band with which she toured between 1956 until 1958. Nancy began her recording career with Dot Records in 1956, as part of the group. Cannonball addederley recommended that she relocate to New York for her career after which she moved into The Big Town. She was hired to sing at The Blue Morocco Night Club located in The Bronx which was where her agent had come across her. The agent he was working with signed her up to Capitol in 1960. The year she made her debut was the same year. Guess who I saw today. Her records were successful and Capitol issued five Nancy Wilson albums in two years. At first, she focused on rhythm and blues, under the influence of Adderley, she shifted away from R&B and began to embrace jazz and torch songs. Nancy Wilson, Cannonball Adderley as well as their 1962 partnership led her to the top of the charts. The singer had her breakout smash Tell Me the Truth by 1963. The performance helped her land a gig in the New York Coconut Grove in 1963, which was America's biggest nightclub.

Maisie Richardson Sellers is an actor who works in both television and film. Her best-known work was her role as Chloe Winthrop on Netflix's The Kissing Booth.
